Walailak Abode of Culture Journal collaborate with Multimedia, Animation and Game Technology Program, under the School of Information Science, working on data gathering from the artifacts excavated from the Tumbang archaeological site by using 3D Laser Scanner.

On June 14, 2021, Walailak Cultural Abode of Cultural Journal collaborated with the Multimedia, Animation and Game Technology Program, the School of Informatics, visited the excavation site in the Tumbang archaeological as a field researching. The program used 3D Laser Scanner to extract the 3D model of the artifacts at the Fine Arts Departments of Thailand 12th Office, Nakhon Si Thammarat.

The project aimed to provide information preservation and information management on artifacts excavated from Tumbang archaeological site by 3D Laser Scanner method. This digital preservation is one of the projects of Walailak Abode Culture Journal, supported by the Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiative. The objective is to collect the information of the ancient artifacts excavated in the Tumbang archaeological site. Then develop into the multimedia approach to empower the education of the history of the archaeological site of Tumbang, which is located in the area of ​​Walailak University. After the archaeological excavation in 2002, the excavated artifacts were displayed at the Nakhon Si Thammarat National Museum. Those artifacts were, such as, the sandstone carved idols, which was assumed to be the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara And some antiques were preserved at the Fine Arts Departments of Thailand 12th Office, such as bowls, pottery, earthenware, etc.
