The School of Informatics organized a seminar on driving the university towards global excellence through OKRs, following the university’s policy.

On January 19th to 21st, 2024, the Acting Dean and Acting Associate Dean, along with faculty members and staff of the School of Informatics, Walailak University, organized a seminar titled “Implementation Plan of the Faculty of Information Science according to the University’s OKRs” at the Centara Grand Beach Resort, Krabi.

The School of Informatics at Walailak University recognizes the importance of aligning its operations with the university’s OKRs. Therefore, a seminar was organized under the guidance of Associate Professor Dr. Siriwatana Kaewpun, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Information Science, Associate Professor Dr. Chaowanun Khundam, Acting Associate Dean, and Dr. Phoraphol Thammorongrat, Acting Associate Dean. The seminar focused on the “Implementation Plan of the Faculty of Information Science according to the OKRs of Walailak University.”

In this seminar, each curriculum has prepared presentations to address the OKRs of the School of Informatics. These include internal education quality assessment, curriculum development to support diverse learning, research publication, student recruitment, student care, and other KPIs. Additionally, seminars on driving research activities for academic staff and handbook development for operational staff were conducted. Knowledge exchange sessions included sharing successful experiences, stories, and insights within each curriculum, aiming to plan for the best direction for each curriculum’s development to align with the university’s policy at its fullest extent.

In addition, there was a practical training session on the topic “Team to Goal” conducted by Dr. Sakchai Sanghapun (Faculty of Commerce and Management, Prince of Songkla University, Trang Campus) as a guest speaker. Participants learned about teamwork, problem-solving, gaining new perspectives and ideas from the speaker. For example, reframing difficult problems into manageable ones, working together as a team, and empathizing with others’ feelings. The speaker engaged everyone in activities that stimulated critical thinking, problem-solving, and planning. This encouraged cooperation among everyone in the School of Informatics, fostering knowledge exchange and successful collaboration in activities.

Furthermore, the faculty members and staff of the School of Informatics organized recreational activities and relaxation sessions to foster good relationships within the department before returning to Walailak University.
