Economic and cultural tourism route in Tha Sala-Sichon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

The team of School of Informatics, Walailak University went to the area to carry out academic services “Economic and cultural tourism route in Tha Sala-Sichon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province”

 

Project Objectives

  1. To develop route maps and websites for economic and cultural tourism routes in Tha Sala-Sichon District Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
  2. To organize activities to promote economic and cultural tourism routes of Tha Sala-Sichon District together with the local community

 

Economic and cultural tourism route Refers to a designated trail or itinerary. It is designed to showcase the region’s economic and cultural attractions to tourists. These typically include experiences such as visits to historical sites, museums, local markets, and cultural festivals. Nowadays, tourist routes in various regions throughout Thailand are often developed with local businesses, communities, and tourism agencies. It may include experiences such as sightseeing and buying local goods,  cultural performances, local food, and opportunities to interact with the local community.

Tha Sala District and Sichon District Nakhon Si Thammarat Province It is considered an essential area of the province due to many factors, consisting of this following:

  1. Have historical significance Because it is an area of historical importance, there are temples, ancient sites of cultural significance. And many historical sites that are important to Thai culture and history.
  2. Natural beauty It consists of beautiful beaches, mangrove forests, and landscapes popular with tourists. Suitable for ecotourism and outdoor recreation.
  3. Interesting culture: This area is home to various cultures and traditions. Tourists can learn about Southern customs and traditions and able to interact with the local community foster understanding and appreciation of different cultures

 

Overall, Tha Sala to Sichon District in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Thailand is an important area due to its historical importance. Natural beauty is the potential for economic development, an opportunity for cultural exchange, and a commitment to sustainable tourism practices.

 

Informatics Innovative Center of Excellence, School of Informatics, Walailak University saw the importance of the Tha Sala-Sichon District tourism route. And want to play a role in promoting economic and cultural tourism routes. How the School of Informatics can play a part in promoting this tourism route are:

  1. School of Informatics can research and development of online information systems to identify important economic and cultural sites along this route.
  2. The school will promote and market this tourism route by working with local tourism agencies to develop marketing campaigns and engage with the local community to encourage community products.
  3. Creating sustainable tourism practices by educating tourists about ecotourism and encouraging local businesses to adopt environmentally friendly practices.

 

The School of Informatics expects this project to benefit communities in its service area. And can be a model for projects that locals may implement in other areas, both in Nakhon Si Thammarat and other provinces in Thailand, which will bring good results to the economy travel and the preservation of the nation’s cultural heritage in the future.
