On August 29, 2024, second-year students from the Digital Technology in Medicine program participated in a field study activity as part of the IMI62-151 course, “Experience in Health Service Facilities,” at Thaksin Hospital in Surat Thani.
The students were divided into groups to visit various departments within the hospital. They gained valuable knowledge and hands-on experience from the experts in each department, which enhanced their understanding of the actual working systems in a healthcare facility.
In the afternoon, the students visited the hospital’s Information Technology Department, a key unit in developing healthcare services and managing hospital data. Following this, they attended a presentation on the “Kid Care” project by senior students currently engaged in cooperative education. This presentation demonstrated how knowledge from their studies is applied in real healthcare settings.
The field study concluded with a debriefing session, after which the students returned to Walailak University with newfound knowledge and experiences from the field trip.
