On October 8, 2024, the School of Informatics at Walailak University underwent an evaluation of its educational quality at the school level under the WUQA-S criteria for the academic year 2023. The evaluation was honored by the presence of the evaluation committee from Walailak University, consisting of:

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchard Punsawad (Chairperson)
Asst. Prof. Jantira Rattanarat (Committee Member)
Lecturer Theerawat Klaokliang (Committee Member and Secretary)

From the evaluation, the School of Informatics received scores in two main areas as follows:

S1: 4.00
S2: 6.07

The School would like to express its gratitude to the faculty, staff, students, and everyone involved in this evaluation. Everyone collaborated wholeheartedly, enabling the School of Informatics to successfully pass the educational quality assessment according to the WUQA-S criteria with excellent results. The outcomes reflect the dedication, unity, and teamwork of all parties.

We would like to thank everyone for their sacrifices and support in this process, which played a crucial role in achieving success in this evaluation.

The School of Informatics, Walailak University, hosted the 4th international seminar “INFOCON 2025” under the theme “AI in Higher Education” via Zoom. The event featured experts from Thailand, Malaysia, and the UK who shared insights on integrating AI into higher education. With over 700 registered participants from around the world, the seminar fostered international academic collaboration and highlighted the growing role of AI in global education.

Walailak University’s School of Informatics Welcomes Dr. Ludovic Andres from the French Embassy in Thailand

On May 14, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ludovic Andres, a representative from the French Embassy in Thailand, on the occasion of his visit to the Informatics Studio – the school’s state-of-the-art academic and digital innovation facility. In the morning, Dr. Andres paid a courtesy visit to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on strengthening academic cooperation between Thailand and France, with a focus on promoting education, developing digital skills, facilitating student exchange programs, and exploring opportunities for joint research in the future.
