MITI Students Join the International Inbound Programme at Universiti Sains Malaysia

From 18–22 August 2025, master’s students from the Master of Information Technology and Innovation (MITI) program at Walailak University participated in the International Inbound Programme at the Centre for Instructional Technology and Multimedia (PTPM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), under the theme “AI and VR Revolution in Learning.”

The programme was designed to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in emerging digital technologies while fostering cross-cultural exchange and international academic networking. Students from several countries, including the Philippines and Indonesia, also took part in the event.

Over the course of five days, the participants engaged in a variety of workshops, such as:

  • Virtual Reality (VR): Exploring the use of VR in education and teaching.
  • 3D Modeling: Creating three-dimensional objects for educational and innovative purposes.
  • Spatial.io: Leveraging virtual platforms for collaborative learning.
    Data Analysis Using Python: Developing essential digital-age skills in data analytics.
  • Prompting Like a Pro – Mastering ChatGPT for Smarter Study: Applying AI tools to support learning and productivity.
  • Hologram Technology: Designing holographic learning experiences.
  • NotebookLM: Utilizing new digital tools for knowledge management and personalized learning.

Beyond the technical learning, students had opportunities to build friendships and share experiences with international peers through group activities, presentations, and collaborative projects. These interactions strengthened their intercultural communication skills and teamwork in a global context.

Participation in this programme represents another milestone for the MITI program, which is committed to cultivating well-rounded graduates equipped with academic knowledge, technological expertise, and global competencies—qualities essential for contributing to future societal development.

On February 13, 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr. Siriwatchana Kaeophanuek, Dean of the School of Informatics at Walailak University, led the executive team, faculty, researchers, staff, and students in welcoming the Senate Committee on Education, Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. The activity aimed to promote physical and mental well-being in the workplace, while also fostering positive relationships and effective collaboration within the organization.
