On March 5, the Digital Technology in Medicine Program at Walailak University organized a creative and educational activity titled “Augmented Reality (AR) Applications in Medical Fields” for students from Southern Thailand Triam Udom Suksa School, held in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The event was honored by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chalee Kaewrat, a faculty member of the program, who served as the speaker. He delivered an engaging lecture and demonstrated real-life applications of AR technology to enhance learning and support medical practices in the digital era. 📱 Participants gained hands-on experience in: Understanding the concepts and working principles of AR technology Applying AR to anatomical simulations Designing AR media to simplify the understanding of complex medical data This activity not only provided students with knowledge and enjoyment, but also broadened their perspective on modern medical technologies. From March 3–5, 2025, the Digital Technology in Medicine (DTM) Program at Walailak University organized a hands-on workshop titled "Internet of Things (IoT)" for high school students from Kanlayanee Si Thammarat School, Nakhon Si Thammarat. The event aimed to broaden students' technological horizons and inspire them to become future innovators. 🌐🤖 The workshop was led by two esteemed instructors from the program, Dr. Teerach Saichoo and Dr. Nannnaphat Siriboonnyapat, who shared in-depth knowledge and practical experience with the participants. 🔍 Students explored the applications of IoT in the healthcare system 🔧 Engaged in hands-on practice with IoT devices and smart technologies 🚀 Sparked innovative ideas that could be developed further in the future The workshop received an enthusiastic response from the students and marked a significant step in empowering Thai youth to stay up to date with technology and play a vital role in the digital society of the future.

On February 22-23, the Digital Technology in Medicine program at Walailak University organized a hands-on workshop titled "Data Visualization by Google Looker Studio," with Ms. Jaruwan Laksanajan, a Computer Systems Analyst from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Akkaratchakumari University, serving as the instructor. The workshop aimed to enhance participants' skills in using Google Looker Studio to create and present data visualizations, making complex information easier to understand and interpret, particularly in the fields of medicine and digital technology. During the session, participants learned how to create effective dashboards and reports, as well as techniques for selecting and managing data to achieve the clearest and most useful outcomes. This tool is essential in the digital age, where data analysis plays a crucial role in decision-making processes. The event was well-received by students and faculty members in the program, who gained valuable knowledge and practical skills that they can apply in their future careers. The workshop also provided an opportunity for everyone to exchange experiences and knowledge.
On February 12, 2025, at Trang Technical College, representatives from the School of Informatics, Walailak University, were honored to serve as judges for the VDO 3D Product Model Advertising team competition at the 33rd National Vocational and Fundamental Skills Competition for the 2024 Academic Year.
On February 14th, the Digital Technology in Medicine (DTM) program at Walailak University participated in the Open House event at the Southern Preparatory School, Nakhon Si Thammarat. The event aimed to introduce pathways for further education in the field of digital technology in medicine and provide students with the opportunity to experience modern medical technology. During the event, faculty members and students from the program presented information about the curriculum, research opportunities, and the application of digital technology in the medical field. In addition, demonstrations of medical-related equipment and software were conducted to allow students to try and learn hands-on. The event attracted significant interest from both students and parents, raising awareness about the digital technology in medicine program and providing an opportunity for students interested in pursuing studies in a modern field that meets the demands of today's digital society.
From February 2-6, third-year students from the Medical Digital Technology program at Walailak University brought honor to their institution by winning the Silver Medal at the I-NEW GEN AWARD 2025 at the BITEC Bangna Exhibition Center. The award-winning projects are innovative solutions with the potential to revolutionize preventive healthcare and support for individuals with physical disabilities. 🏆 Silver Medal Awarded Projects 🥈 in the Health and Medical category include: AI-driven Preventive Medicine for Predicting Respiratory Disease Risk Using Wearable Devices Human-Computer Interface Device with Optical Sensors to Control Wheelchairs for Individuals with Physical Disabilities Achievement and Pride This success is a testament to the ability of the students in the Medical Digital Technology program to apply digital technology and artificial intelligence to address healthcare challenges and support people with disabilities. This achievement also highlights the students' dedication and ability to create practical innovations that can be applied in real life to improve the quality of life for people in society.
On January 8th, the Information Technology program hosted a New Year celebration in a warm and joyful atmosphere at Academic Building 1. The event was held to spread happiness and celebrate the end of the year while welcoming the new year together with students and faculty members. The event kicked off with a special performance by third-year ITD students, who impressed the audience with their talents, creativity, and friendly vibe—reflecting unity and the vibrant energy of the new generation in the IT field. 🎮 The fun continued with exciting games like “Musical Chairs” and “Quizizz”, which brought laughter, cheers, and a lively atmosphere throughout the room. These moments allowed everyone to relax, bond, and enjoy themselves together. 🎁 Towards the end, everyone participated in a gift exchange, where students and lecturers brought thoughtful presents to share joy and warmth. The event concluded with a grand prize raffle by the faculty members, which brought surprise and excitement to all attendees.
