The School of Informatics, Walailak University, extends its congratulations to the students from the Interactive Multimedia Animation and Games (IMAG) program for winning the Creative Awards at the UI Designa-Thon 2024: Exploring AI in Creative Interface competition. The event took place at Mae Fah Luang University, Chiang Rai, on June 14-15, 2024.

The winning team, under the guidance of Dr. Pornpol Thammarongrat and Assoc. Prof. Waluka Em-ek, consisted of:

– Ms. Manicha Jongchai-Anurak
– Ms. Natthawara Yadsuwan
– Ms. Naphat Kantanet

All three are third-year students in the IMAG program. Their project presented an innovative concept for an app designed for skill development for recent graduates and individuals looking to enhance their skills through community or peer motivation.

The School of Informatics, Walailak University, hosted the 4th international seminar “INFOCON 2025” under the theme “AI in Higher Education” via Zoom. The event featured experts from Thailand, Malaysia, and the UK who shared insights on integrating AI into higher education. With over 700 registered participants from around the world, the seminar fostered international academic collaboration and highlighted the growing role of AI in global education.

Walailak University’s School of Informatics Welcomes Dr. Ludovic Andres from the French Embassy in Thailand

On May 14, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ludovic Andres, a representative from the French Embassy in Thailand, on the occasion of his visit to the Informatics Studio – the school’s state-of-the-art academic and digital innovation facility. In the morning, Dr. Andres paid a courtesy visit to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on strengthening academic cooperation between Thailand and France, with a focus on promoting education, developing digital skills, facilitating student exchange programs, and exploring opportunities for joint research in the future.
