On May 14, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ludovic Andres, a representative from the French Embassy in Thailand, on the occasion of his visit to the Informatics Studio – the school’s state-of-the-art academic and digital innovation facility.
In the morning, Dr. Andres paid a courtesy visit to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on strengthening academic cooperation between Thailand and France, with a focus on promoting education, developing digital skills, facilitating student exchange programs, and exploring opportunities for joint research in the future.

The delegation presented an overview of the school’s academic programs, research activities, and community engagement, followed by a tour of the Informatics Studio. The visit included key facilities such as the CAVE Room, Communication Arts Studio, Computer Graphics Lab, Photography Studio, Big Data Analysis Lab, and other specialized learning spaces throughout the building — all of which support hands-on learning and student innovation in the digital field.
This visit marked a significant step in fostering collaboration between Walailak University and the French Embassy in Thailand. It opens the door for future academic partnerships, research initiatives, cultural exchange, and a deeper mutual understanding between the two nations in the spirit of international cooperation and sustainable development.
