Congratulations to Miss Plum Kekieng Nam, Mr. Suchakree Longji, and Miss Mutita Keerirak from the Intelligent Information Technology (IIT) program at Walailak University for winning a silver medal at the Thailand Research Expo 2024 with their project, “WU BOT CARE”!

This innovative project, supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Bukhoree Sahoh, involves a device that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor and detect assistance signals from elderly individuals through hand movements. The technology aims to enhance the responsiveness and efficiency of caregiving by enabling quicker and more effective reactions to the needs of elderly individuals.

Their success at the expo highlights the dedication and potential of IIT students in advancing technology to address real-world challenges and contribute positively to society. Well done on this outstanding achievement!

Walailak University’s School of Informatics Welcomes Dr. Ludovic Andres from the French Embassy in Thailand

On May 14, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ludovic Andres, a representative from the French Embassy in Thailand, on the occasion of his visit to the Informatics Studio – the school’s state-of-the-art academic and digital innovation facility. In the morning, Dr. Andres paid a courtesy visit to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on strengthening academic cooperation between Thailand and France, with a focus on promoting education, developing digital skills, facilitating student exchange programs, and exploring opportunities for joint research in the future.
