On June 20, 2024, the Digital Communication Arts Program, in collaboration with the Botanical Garden at Walailak University, opened a green learning experience for high school students from five schools in Nakhon Si Thammarat province that are members of the School Botanical Garden Project. The participating schools included Yothinbamrung School, Pak Phanang School, Satit Wat Phetcharik Municipal School, Bannakian School, and Nakhon Si Thammarat Vocational College. The event took place at the Botanical Garden of Walailak University.
Students enjoyed nature walks and explored various plant species within the university’s preserved forest area. They also learned about significant plants through fun and educational materials as part of a research project focused on communication for plant conservation in the university’s original forest area. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to conserving and enhancing biodiversity in existing ecosystems.
Both students and communication program seniors left the event with hearts full of stories from the forest. For your next nature walk, don’t forget to listen to the trees!
