The Interactive Multimedia Animation and Game (IMAG) program at Walailak University is set to host a shadow puppet performance on September 11-12, 2024, at room AD 1306. Renowned shadow puppet artist Sudarat “Tom” Sinthong will be the special guest for the event, which will run from 17:50 to 18:50.

The performance will showcase the beauty of traditional shadow puppetry, blending art with storytelling through the interplay of light and shadow. Sudarat, an acclaimed artist in the field, will present a performance full of skill and creativity, demonstrating how this ancient art form can be adapted to create 2D animation. This event is designed to inspire and provide new ideas for multimedia and animation students.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from a professional artist, gaining valuable insights into creative processes.

On May 14, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ludovic Andres, a representative from the French Embassy in Thailand, on the occasion of his visit to the Informatics Studio – the school’s state-of-the-art academic and digital innovation facility. In the morning, Dr. Andres paid a courtesy visit to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on strengthening academic cooperation between Thailand and France, with a focus on promoting education, developing digital skills, facilitating student exchange programs, and exploring opportunities for joint research in the future.
