The School of Informatics has established a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a Japanese company.

On June 3-4, 2024, Dr.Mongkol Teerananond, Assistant Vice President, together with Asst.Prof.Dr. Siriwatchana Kaeophanuek, Dean of the School of Informatics, and faculty members, received an invitation from Dr. Chaw Temrak, the management executive of Yanagawa High School, to attend the inauguration ceremony of a Japanese company’s office in Nakhon Si Thammarat province. The event was presided over by Mr. Masaaki Hashimoto, Chairman of the Board of Hashimoto Sogyo Holdings Co., Ltd., along with representatives from Japan. The company, Shoh Planning Co., Ltd., and Hashimoto Sogyo Design Center, specializes in software design and development in Japan and boasts over 130 years of operation.

During the meeting, various collaborative opportunities were explored. Subsequently, it was agreed that students from the School of Informatics would be offered internships in Japan. The company will cover travel expenses and provide a compensation of 1,200 yen per hour, approximately 48,000 baht per month, during the internship period.

Moreover, plans for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) are underway. Notably, this company has previously entered into MOUs with only one university in Thailand, Chulalongkorn University, making Walailak University the second institution to do so.
