The School of Informatics, together with the Informatics Student Club, organized the INFO Orientation 2024 event on June 6, 2024, at Building 7. Throughout the day, faculty, staff, and seniors warmly welcomed new students with heartfelt activities. The morning session featured opening remarks from the dean, vice deans, and student activities assistant dean, followed by team introductions of departmental activities and exchange experiences from senior students across various programs. In the afternoon, different bases hosted activities such as Team Unity, XO Fun, Evolutionary Transformation, and Fancy Dress Fun, fostering fun, laughter, new experiences, camaraderie, problem-solving, and community spirit among students from different programs. The day ended with recreational activities and a grand welcome event to complete the vibrant orientation experience. Welcome once again to all new students, wishing them success in their studies and encouraging them to seek guidance from faculty, staff, and peers as needed.

The School of Informatics, Walailak University, hosted the 4th international seminar “INFOCON 2025” under the theme “AI in Higher Education” via Zoom. The event featured experts from Thailand, Malaysia, and the UK who shared insights on integrating AI into higher education. With over 700 registered participants from around the world, the seminar fostered international academic collaboration and highlighted the growing role of AI in global education.

Walailak University’s School of Informatics Welcomes Dr. Ludovic Andres from the French Embassy in Thailand

On May 14, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ludovic Andres, a representative from the French Embassy in Thailand, on the occasion of his visit to the Informatics Studio – the school’s state-of-the-art academic and digital innovation facility. In the morning, Dr. Andres paid a courtesy visit to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on strengthening academic cooperation between Thailand and France, with a focus on promoting education, developing digital skills, facilitating student exchange programs, and exploring opportunities for joint research in the future.
