The School of Informatics, Walailak University, joined in preserving Thai cultural heritage at the “Walailak Songkran: Preserving Traditions 2025” event

On April 9, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, participated in the “Walailak Songkran: Preserving Traditions 2025” event, held at the central hall of the Architecture and Design Practice Building, Walailak University.
The event was organized by the Center for Cultural Promotion and Sports in collaboration with the Center for Academic Services and Surrounding Communities, under the theme “Preserving Traditions, Strengthening Community Bonds.” It aimed to celebrate the Thai New Year (Songkran) while preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Thailand.

The event was graciously presided over by Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, who delivered heartfelt blessings to mark the occasion of the Thai New Year. The atmosphere was filled with warmth, joy, and unity among members of the university and the surrounding community.

The School of Informatics was represented by its executive team, led by the Acting Dean and Acting Associate Dean, along with faculty members and staff who joined the celebration to express gratitude toward the elderly, foster strong community-university relationships, and contribute to the preservation of Thai arts and culture.

Additionally, the School of Informatics brought delicious “Khanom Tian Kaew” (Thai crystal rice cakes) to share with all participants, adding a sweet touch of happiness to the celebration.

The event was filled with smiles, laughter, and memorable moments—reflecting the spirit of unity and the collective effort to uphold Thai traditions for future generations.
