On May 12, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University organized the New Student Orientation 2025 to warmly welcome our freshmen into the #เด็กLikeสาระ (Dek Like Sara) family in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.

The event was honored by the presence of Asst. Prof. Dr. Siriwatjana Kaewphanuak, Acting Dean of the School of Informatics, along with faculty members, academic staff, personnel, and the student union team—coming together to give a heartfelt welcome to our new INFO members in a fun, warm, and smile-filled environment, true to the spirit of Informatics students.

In the academic year 2025, nearly 300 first-year students have been accepted into the School of Informatics through two admission rounds. These new members are now ready to begin their journey and grow together in the world of Informatics.

All faculty and staff of the School of Informatics are committed to supporting each student’s learning journey—both in academic knowledge and hands-on experience—to equip them with the skills and confidence needed for future careers in the digital industry.

The School of Informatics, Walailak University, hosted the 4th international seminar “INFOCON 2025” under the theme “AI in Higher Education” via Zoom. The event featured experts from Thailand, Malaysia, and the UK who shared insights on integrating AI into higher education. With over 700 registered participants from around the world, the seminar fostered international academic collaboration and highlighted the growing role of AI in global education.

Walailak University’s School of Informatics Welcomes Dr. Ludovic Andres from the French Embassy in Thailand

On May 14, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ludovic Andres, a representative from the French Embassy in Thailand, on the occasion of his visit to the Informatics Studio – the school’s state-of-the-art academic and digital innovation facility. In the morning, Dr. Andres paid a courtesy visit to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on strengthening academic cooperation between Thailand and France, with a focus on promoting education, developing digital skills, facilitating student exchange programs, and exploring opportunities for joint research in the future.
