On January 29, 2025, prior to the first Walailak University Executive Meeting of 2025, held in the Chor Pradu Meeting Room on the 4th floor of Chulabhorn Vejvathana Building at Walailak University Hospital,
Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, presented a bouquet of flowers to commend the faculty members and students from the School of Informatics who have brought recognition to the university.

Faculty Achievements
- Assistant Professor Dr. Siwanath Nuntapichai, Dr. Theerat Saichoo, and Dr. Phanwadee Sinthong from the School of Informatics were recognized for their roles as principal investigators of research projects funded by external grants for the 2025 fiscal year.
Student Achievements
- Ms. Warisara Laor, a first-year student in the Digital Content and Media program at the School of Informatics, was acknowledged for producing the video clip “Dormitory Life at Walailak University is Not as Difficult as You Think” within just one semester.

The School of Informatics congratulates all students and faculty members who have contributed to the university’s recognition and pride. Their accomplishments serve as exemplary contributions to society and the academic community.

The School of Informatics, Walailak University, hosted the 4th international seminar “INFOCON 2025” under the theme “AI in Higher Education” via Zoom. The event featured experts from Thailand, Malaysia, and the UK who shared insights on integrating AI into higher education. With over 700 registered participants from around the world, the seminar fostered international academic collaboration and highlighted the growing role of AI in global education.

Walailak University’s School of Informatics Welcomes Dr. Ludovic Andres from the French Embassy in Thailand

On May 14, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ludovic Andres, a representative from the French Embassy in Thailand, on the occasion of his visit to the Informatics Studio – the school’s state-of-the-art academic and digital innovation facility. In the morning, Dr. Andres paid a courtesy visit to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on strengthening academic cooperation between Thailand and France, with a focus on promoting education, developing digital skills, facilitating student exchange programs, and exploring opportunities for joint research in the future.
