A research team from the Interactive Multimedia, Animation, and Game (IMAG) program at Walailak University conducted a field trip to the Kalyaninivatta Institute of Cultural Studies to collect data on significant Southeast Asian cultural artifacts.

This data will be used in the Suvarnabhumi Nexus Torarium project, a virtual museum aimed at creating an immersive learning experience about history through digital exhibitions of cultural artifacts. This project will connect the maritime trade stories of the Malay Peninsula and surrounding regions, allowing people worldwide to access and learn from anywhere.

The event featured experts from Thailand, Malaysia, and the UK who shared insights on integrating AI into higher education. With over 700 registered participants from around the world, the seminar fostered international academic collaboration and highlighted the growing role of AI in global education.

Walailak University’s School of Informatics Welcomes Dr. Ludovic Andres from the French Embassy in Thailand

On May 14, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ludovic Andres, a representative from the French Embassy in Thailand, on the occasion of his visit to the Informatics Studio – the school’s state-of-the-art academic and digital innovation facility. In the morning, Dr. Andres paid a courtesy visit to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on strengthening academic cooperation between Thailand and France, with a focus on promoting education, developing digital skills, facilitating student exchange programs, and exploring opportunities for joint research in the future.
