On August 31, 2024, students from the Intelligent Information Technology program at Walailak University, including Miss Plum Kekieng Nam, Mr. Suchakree Longji, and Miss Mutita Keerirak, secured the 1st Runner-Up award at the Thailand ICT Awards 2024, a prestigious national digital technology competition.
Their award-winning project, titled “WU BOT CARE,” is a device that tracks and detects signals of assistance requests from the elderly through hand movement detection. The project utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) technology with precise motion detection and situational assessment capabilities. This innovation reflects the students’ ability and potential in developing technology for social impact, particularly in the efficient care of the elderly.
Additionally, the project received guidance and support from Asst. Prof. Dr. Bukhoree Sahoh, a faculty member in the Information Technology program, who closely mentored the team throughout the development process.
Congratulations to all the students for their achievement, and best wishes as they continue to apply their technological knowledge to benefit society in the future.
