The School of Informatics extends a warm welcome to Prof. Dr. Wu-Yuin Hwang for visiting and exploring the facilities within the laboratories of each curriculum. We eagerly anticipate the exchange of research insights and ideas with the faculty members of the School of Informatics.

On March 27th, 2023, the School of Informatics warmly welcomed Prof. Dr. Wu-Yuin Hwang from Taiwan to visit and explore the laboratories of each curriculum. Various facilities provided by the School of Informatics to support students were also presented during the visit. The event commenced with the Multimedia Technology, Animation, and Game curriculum, led by Ajarn Patibut Preeyawongsakul and faculty members, who provided lectures and showcased the facilities in their laboratory.

Subsequently, the Information Technology and Digital Innovation curriculum, under the leadership of Ajarn Jongsuk Kongsen and faculty, delivered lectures and presented the facilities in their laboratory. This was followed by the Medical Informatics Innovation curriculum, led by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Yunyong Punsawad and faculty, conducting lectures and showcasing their laboratory facilities. Lastly, the Digital Communication curriculum, headed by Dr. Rotjaret Narongrach and faculty, also delivered lectures and presented their laboratory facilities.

After these informative sessions, there was a meeting with Prof. Dr. Wu-Yuin Hwang to discuss research collaboration. The meeting was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Poonpong Boonpram, the Dean of the School, and faculty members.

The School of Informatics, Walailak University, hosted the 4th international seminar “INFOCON 2025” under the theme “AI in Higher Education” via Zoom. The event featured experts from Thailand, Malaysia, and the UK who shared insights on integrating AI into higher education. With over 700 registered participants from around the world, the seminar fostered international academic collaboration and highlighted the growing role of AI in global education.

Walailak University’s School of Informatics Welcomes Dr. Ludovic Andres from the French Embassy in Thailand

On May 14, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ludovic Andres, a representative from the French Embassy in Thailand, on the occasion of his visit to the Informatics Studio – the school’s state-of-the-art academic and digital innovation facility. In the morning, Dr. Andres paid a courtesy visit to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on strengthening academic cooperation between Thailand and France, with a focus on promoting education, developing digital skills, facilitating student exchange programs, and exploring opportunities for joint research in the future.
