The principles and reasons for the economic and cultural tourism route refer to the designated path or itinerary designed to showcase the economic and cultural tourism destinations of a region to tourists. Generally, it includes various experiences such as visiting historical sites, museums, local markets, and cultural festivals.

Currently, economic and cultural tourism routes can be found throughout various regions in Thailand and are often developed in collaboration with local businesses, communities, and tourism organizations. These routes typically offer diverse experiences such as visiting and purchasing local products, cultural performances, local cuisine, and opportunities to interact with local communities.

Tha Sala District and Sichon District in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province are significant areas for several reasons:

  1.  Historical Importance: These areas are historically significant with landmarks such as Wat Vaiaram Temple, important cultural heritage sites, and numerous historical sites that are crucial to Thai culture and history.
  2. Natural Beauty: They boast beautiful beaches, the Khao Kung Palace, and scenic landscapes popular among tourists, suitable for eco-tourism and nature-based relaxation.
  3. Cultural Diversity: This region is known for its diverse cultures and traditions. Tourists can learn about local customs and traditions, fostering understanding and appreciation for the region’s cultural diversity.

In summary, Tha Sala and Sichon in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province are important due to their historical significance, natural beauty, economic development potential, cultural exchange opportunities, and sustainable tourism practices.

The Center of Excellence in Information Innovation, Faculty of Information Science, Walailak University, recognizes the importance of the Tha Sala-Sichon tourism route and aims to play a role in promoting this economic and cultural tourism route.
