The School of Informatics, Walailak University, continues to strengthen its international academic partnerships through an overseas teaching engagement by Assistant Professor Dr. Kanitsorn Suriyapaiboonwattana, a lecturer in the Digital Content and Media Programme. He has been invited by Hochschule RheinMain – University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Germany, to undertake a teaching assignment in the Master of Arts (M.A.) programme in Screen Arts from 1–16 November 2026, supported by the Erasmus+ KA171 programme.

On 31 October 2026, Asst. Prof. Jongsuk Kongsen and Asst. Prof. Dr. Bundit Buddhahai, lecturers in the Intelligent Information Technology programme, represented the School of Informatics, Walailak University, at the Russian-Thai Investment Forum 2026. They participated in the roundtable discussion entitled “Human Capital for the New Economy. Russia and Thailand: From Academic Mobility to Joint Training of Specialists,” held at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok, Thailand.

On September 16, 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr. Siriwatchana Kaeophanuek, Dean of the School of Informatics, Walailak University, accompanied by Dr. Attanan Tachopisalwong, Director of the Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development, along with faculty members and staff, visited Hungkuang University in Taiwan. The mission aimed to strengthen academic partnerships and advance international cooperative education initiatives. The delegation received a warm welcome from Dr. Paul Lin, Secretary-General, and Dr. Tiger Tien, Dean of the Office of International Affairs, alongside faculty and staff members.

Lab Safety First: Know How to Escape! The School of Informatics at Walailak University organized a training program titled "Basic Laboratory Safety and Fire Evacuation Awareness" to enhance essential knowledge, understanding, and skills for safe lab operations, while preparing participants to prevent and respond effectively to emergencies and fire hazards.

On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, participated in showcasing innovative solutions at WU INNOVATION DAY 2026 (WUID) under the theme "SDGs plus," held at the Phatthara Thammaphorn Conference Room, Walailak University Medical Center Hospital. The event aimed to promote knowledge sharing and present advancements driven by technology and innovation to enhance university operations.

From August 10–13, 2026, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, successfully hosted the "Joint Seminar on Research Implementation and Technical Collaboration" in partnership with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Malaysia. The four-day initiative laid a solid foundation for an upcoming Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) focused on joint research, academic enhancement, and international cooperative education programs.

On July 3, 2026, the School of Informatics at Walailak University participated in a royal blessing ceremony to mark the auspicious occasion of the birthday of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak, The Princess Srisavadhivabhana Varkhattiyarajanari. This participation reflects the school's deep loyalty and profound gratitude toward Her Royal Highness's boundless benevolence.

The School of Informatics at Walailak University, in collaboration with the Center of Excellence in Informatics Innovation, successfully hosted The 5th Informatics International Seminar 2026 (INFOCON 2026) on June 24, 2026. Held online via Zoom under the theme “AI-Driven Innovation for Digital Transformation,” the seminar served as a premier platform for experts, researchers, students, and tech enthusiasts worldwide to exchange knowledge, experiences, and perspectives on artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

On June 16, 2026, the School of Informatics at Walailak University organized a specialized workshop designed to enhance knowledge and understanding regarding academic promotion and professional advancement for operational and support staff. The school was honored to have Mr. Jaruek Promklee, a Senior General Administration Officer from the School of Medicine, serve as the keynote speaker to share his valuable expertise, experiences, and practical guidelines.
