On May 14, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ludovic Andres, a representative from the French Embassy in Thailand, on the occasion of his visit to the Informatics Studio – the school’s state-of-the-art academic and digital innovation facility. In the morning, Dr. Andres paid a courtesy visit to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on strengthening academic cooperation between Thailand and France, with a focus on promoting education, developing digital skills, facilitating student exchange programs, and exploring opportunities for joint research in the future.
On May 9, 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Siriwatchana Kaeophanuek, Acting Dean of the School of Informatics at Walailak University, along with the school's executive team and faculty members from all programs, visited Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) to further and expand international academic collaboration. During this visit, the delegation received a warm welcome from Associate Professor Dr. Mohammad Rezal Hamzah, Dean of the Faculty of Business & Communication, and his administrative team. The faculty offers undergraduate programs in New Media Communication, integrating skills in communication, new media, information technology, and management. Additionally, they have recently introduced a program in Interactive Multimedia. At the postgraduate level, they offer a program in Communication and Information Technology, which currently attracts a significant number of international students.
On May 8, 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Siriwatchana Kaeophanuek, Acting Dean of the School of Informatics, Walailak University, together with the school’s executive team and faculty members from all programs, visited the School of Computing, UUM College of Arts and Sciences, Universiti Utara Malaysia, to continue and strengthen international academic collaboration. 🌐
On May 7, 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Siriwatchana Kaeophanuek, Acting Dean of the School of Informatics, Walailak University, together with the school’s executives and faculty members from all academic programs, paid an official visit to Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) to foster international academic collaboration.
February 15, 2025 – The School of Informatics, Walailak University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Waranyu Worachat, Head of the Interactive Multimedia, Animation, and Game (IMAG) Program, Dr. Yuttana Charoenruen, Head of the Digital Content and Media Program, and Dr. Rotcharet Narongrach, Lecturer in the Digital Communication Program, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Phatnarin Supakorn, Director of the Center for International Affairs, warmly welcomed faculty members and students from the Digital Multimedia and Technology Program, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Malaysia. The visit aimed to explore opportunities for academic collaboration and strengthen ties between the two institutions.
On January 23, 2025, the School of Informatics, Laksana University, organized a seminar titled "Preparing for Q1 Publication." The event featured Assoc. Prof. Lester Gilbert from the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, University of Southampton, United Kingdom, as the keynote speaker.
The School of Informatics, Walailak University, warmly welcomed the executive team from the Faculty of Business and Communication, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), to strengthen ties and develop academic and research collaborations on Monday, January 20, 2025.
On Monday, January 20, 2025, the School of Informatics, together with its executives, the Dean, and the Assistant Dean for International Affairs, warmly welcomed representatives from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Malaysia. The UniMAP delegation, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dato' Ts. Dr. Zaliman Sauli, along with executives from various faculties, attended a collaborative meeting held at the Honor Hall and Chor Pradoo Meeting Room of the Medical Center Hospital, Walailak University. The discussions focused on fostering collaboration in joint research development, student exchange programs, the development of future graduate curricula, and additional academic cooperation. The School of Informatics is honored to have hosted this significant occasion and hopes that future collaborations will contribute to the advancement of the School of Informatics.
On October 28, 2024 Walailak University had the honor of welcoming Mr. Curt Garrigan, Chief of the Sustainable Urban Development Section, Environment and Development Division, from UN ESCAP, who visited to observe the Sustainable Urban Community Development Project, particularly in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. On this occasion, the School of Informatics, represented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaowanan Khundam and Asst. Prof. Dr. Peeravit Koad, warmly welcomed Mr. Omar Siddique. The visit included discussions on future collaboration opportunities between ESCAP and the university.
