The School of Informatics, Walailak University, continues to strengthen its international academic networks and collaborations. Recently, Associate Professor Dr. Bukhoree Sahoh, a lecturer at the School of Informatics, was invited as a guest speaker to share his vision and expertise in technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at two major international academic events.
The School of Information Science would like to thank all faculty, staff, and students for their collaborative efforts in implementing the 5S activities, which resulted in the School passing the annual 5S assessment on May 20th with a perfect score of 5.
On 28 January 2026, prior to the Executive Board Meeting of Walailak University No. 1/2026, held at Mokhlan Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, Professor Dr. Wichit Srisa-an Building, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, presented congratulatory flower bouquets to faculty members and students of the School of Informatics who have produced outstanding achievements and brought honor to the University
On 24 December 2025, prior to the 9/2025 Executive Meeting of Walailak University, held at Moklan Room, 3rd Floor, Professor Dr. Wichit Srisa-an Building, Walailak University, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, presented flower bouquets to staff members and students of the School of Informatics in recognition of their outstanding achievements, which have brought honor and pride to the University at both national and international levels.

The School of Informatics, Walailak University, extends its heartfelt congratulations to Asst.Prof.Tanaporn Charoenthansakul, a faculty member of the Digital Communication Arts program, who was selected as one of the 20 projects to be presented in the form of an Oral Presentation and was honored with the prestigious award TOP 10 SDG PROJECTS 2025 at the WU SDG Day, organized by the Center for Academic Services, Walailak University.
On August 19, 2025, second-year students from the Digital Content and Media program, School of Informatics, Walailak University, advanced to the final round of the EDC Pitching Season 3. The competition, organized by the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, took place at SCBX NEXT TECH, Siam Paragon, Bangkok, under the theme “Digital Space Connect: Linking Learning Spaces to Develop Digital Citizens.”
On August 5, 2025, Walailak University signed a collaboration agreement with GIS Group Co., Ltd. to advance technology aimed at promoting sustainable and efficient energy usage. Through this partnership, the School of Informatics has been awarded a research grant from GIS Group Co., Ltd. to develop an “Intelligent Control System for Chilled Water Air Conditioning Units” using Machine Learning models to enhance system performance, reduce energy consumption, and minimize environmental impact.
