Strengthening Global Academic & AI Research Collaboration: School of Informatics, Walailak University × UniSZA, Malaysia

From August 10–13, 2026, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, successfully hosted the “Joint Seminar on Research Implementation and Technical Collaboration” in partnership with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Malaysia. The four-day initiative laid a solid foundation for an upcoming Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) focused on joint research, academic enhancement, and international cooperative education programs.

Throughout the seminar, special lectures and global technology trend sessions were delivered to empower second- and third-year Intelligent Information Technology (IIT) students. In parallel, faculty members and domain experts engaged in collaborative roundtables to explore cutting-edge Applied AI implementations across diverse sectors, including Business, Healthcare, Energy, Geoinformatics (GIS), Digital Humanities, Animation & Multimedia, and Large Language Models (LLMs).

Furthermore, both institutions established strategic action plans to foster international student mobility, cross-border Cooperative Education (Co-op), and research internships tailored for both undergraduate and postgraduate (Master’s & Ph.D.) students. This major milestone reinforces Walailak University’s commitment to broadening global networks, driving high-impact research, and equipping students with the essential competencies to thrive in the global tech workforce!
