From August 10–13, 2026, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, successfully hosted the “Joint Seminar on Research Implementation and Technical Collaboration” in partnership with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Malaysia. The four-day initiative laid a solid foundation for an upcoming Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) focused on joint research, academic enhancement, and international cooperative education programs.

Throughout the seminar, special lectures and global technology trend sessions were delivered to empower second- and third-year Intelligent Information Technology (IIT) students. In parallel, faculty members and domain experts engaged in collaborative roundtables to explore cutting-edge Applied AI implementations across diverse sectors, including Business, Healthcare, Energy, Geoinformatics (GIS), Digital Humanities, Animation & Multimedia, and Large Language Models (LLMs).

Furthermore, both institutions established strategic action plans to foster international student mobility, cross-border Cooperative Education (Co-op), and research internships tailored for both undergraduate and postgraduate (Master’s & Ph.D.) students. This major milestone reinforces Walailak University’s commitment to broadening global networks, driving high-impact research, and equipping students with the essential competencies to thrive in the global tech workforce!

The School of Informatics, Walailak University, proudly congratulates and honors Mr. Kritsapakon Janprung, an academic staff member specializing in Animation, Interactive Multimedia, and Games. His digital artwork was selected for display at the contemporary art exhibition within Creative Nakhon - The 7th Creative Nakhon Festival, themed "SACRED SECRET" (ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ เข้ม | ขลัง). The festival took place in the Tha Wang district of Mueang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, from July 2–5, 2026.

The School of Informatics at Walailak University, in collaboration with the Center of Excellence in Informatics Innovation, successfully hosted The 5th Informatics International Seminar 2026 (INFOCON 2026) on June 24, 2026. Held online via Zoom under the theme “AI-Driven Innovation for Digital Transformation,” the seminar served as a premier platform for experts, researchers, students, and tech enthusiasts worldwide to exchange knowledge, experiences, and perspectives on artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

On June 16, 2026, the School of Informatics at Walailak University organized a specialized workshop designed to enhance knowledge and understanding regarding academic promotion and professional advancement for operational and support staff.
