The School of Informatics is actively advancing international research collaboration with universities in Uzbekistan.

On June 7, 2024, the School of Informatics, led by Asst.Prof.Dr. Siriwatchana Kaeophanuek, Acting Dean, Asst.Prof.Dr. Chaowanan Khundam, Acting Associate Dean, and Dr. Sasithorn Rattanarungrot, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, along with six faculty members from various programs, welcomed executives from Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT), Uzbekistan. The delegation included Dr. Komil Tashev, Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovation; Dr. Ortiq Ruzibayev, Dean of the Faculty of Software Engineering; and Prof. Dr. Ibrohimbek Yusupov, Head of International Relations, International Ranking, and Strategic Development. The visit was in collaboration with the School of Engineering and Technology and the International Affairs Center. This visit continued the relationship established during the April visit of Prof.Dr.Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, the President of Walailak University, and his executive team to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

During the visit, the School of Informatics presented the bachelor’s degree programs offered by the school, which include:

– Digital Technology in Medicine
– Intelligent Information Technology
– Interactive Multimedia Animation and Games
– Digital Communication Arts
– Digital Content and Media

Additionally, the school showcased its facilities and laboratories that support student learning. These presentations aimed to foster collaboration and student exchange opportunities between the universities. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bukoree Saehor, representing the Digital Technology in Medicine program, presented research on the application of AI in medical support, which garnered significant interest from the visitors. Furthermore, the delegation was invited to participate in the ICTWEEK UZBEKISTAN conference, scheduled to be held in Tashkent from September 17-20, 2024. Both institutions were encouraged to send representatives to this event.

This visit marks a significant opportunity to enhance international cooperation, an effort that the School of Informatics continues to drive forward. The School of Informatics extends its gratitude to the International Affairs Center and the School of Engineering and Technology for their support in this endeavor, contributing to Walailak University’s ongoing internationalization efforts.
