School of Informatics joins the Bai Sri San Fun To Dream activity of Walailak University.

On June 7, 2024, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, participated in the “Bai Sri San Fun To Dream” event. This event was organized to welcome new students of the academic year 2024 to the embrace of Walailak University. The event featured welcoming remarks and stories related to the university’s various experiences, with blessings extended to the students by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sompat Thamrongthanyawong, along with other university executives.

During the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siriwat Kaeopanuk served as Acting Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phorapong Thammakornrat served as Acting Vice Dean, and Assoc. Prof. Kannaa Hrhrongsakpong represented the Assistant Dean for Student Activities. Faculty members, academic staff, alumni of the School of Informatics, and current students also participated, presenting tokens of appreciation and encouragement for their academic journey and university life.

As part of the event, the School of Informatics presented special commemorative gifts to the students, designed to serve as mementos and symbols of their entry into Walailak University.

The School of Informatics, Walailak University, hosted the 4th international seminar “INFOCON 2025” under the theme “AI in Higher Education” via Zoom. The event featured experts from Thailand, Malaysia, and the UK who shared insights on integrating AI into higher education. With over 700 registered participants from around the world, the seminar fostered international academic collaboration and highlighted the growing role of AI in global education.

Walailak University’s School of Informatics Welcomes Dr. Ludovic Andres from the French Embassy in Thailand

On May 14, 2025, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, had the honor of welcoming Dr. Ludovic Andres, a representative from the French Embassy in Thailand, on the occasion of his visit to the Informatics Studio – the school’s state-of-the-art academic and digital innovation facility. In the morning, Dr. Andres paid a courtesy visit to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on strengthening academic cooperation between Thailand and France, with a focus on promoting education, developing digital skills, facilitating student exchange programs, and exploring opportunities for joint research in the future.
