On August 5, 2025, Walailak University signed a collaboration agreement with GIS Group Co., Ltd. to advance technology aimed at promoting sustainable and efficient energy usage. Through this partnership, the School of Informatics has been awarded a research grant from GIS Group Co., Ltd. to develop an “Intelligent Control System for Chilled Water Air Conditioning Units” using Machine Learning models to enhance system performance, reduce energy consumption, and minimize environmental impact.
The intelligent control system is designed to autonomously analyze data and adjust the operation of air conditioning units based on real-time environmental conditions and usage patterns, leading to measurable improvements in energy efficiency.
This project is led by a team of faculty members from the Intelligent Information Technology program, School of Informatics, Walailak University, including:
-
Dr. Jakrin Weekaew (Project Leader)
-
Asst. Prof. Karnjana Haruehansapong
-
Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirirat Somchuea
-
Asst. Prof. Dr. Bundit Phutthahai
