On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the School of Informatics, Walailak University, participated in showcasing innovative solutions at WU INNOVATION DAY 2026 (WUID) under the theme “SDGs plus,” held at the Phatthara Thammaphorn Conference Room, Walailak University Medical Center Hospital. The event aimed to promote knowledge sharing and present advancements driven by technology and innovation to enhance university operations.
.
Presenting the “Integrated Budget Management System” On this occasion, the School of Informatics presented the “Integrated Budget Management System,” developed to resolve budget tracking and reporting challenges that were previously prone to delays, data fragmentation, and human error inherent in legacy workflows.
The system systematically manages budget data, allowing users to verify and categorize information by department, academic program, and budget type. This enables staff to quickly access data and monitor their allocated budgets with high efficiency.
Additionally, key functional features include seamless budget item copying for use with the DOMS system, monthly budget status notifications, and a substantial reduction in data redundancy and administrative steps. Developing this system reflects the integration of digital technology and data analytics into institutional management—driving efficiency, precision, accountability, and transparency in budget monitoring.
.
Aligning with Sustainable Development Goal SDG 16.6 The Integrated Budget Management System directly supports SDG 16.6: Develop effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels.
By organizing and displaying data systematically, the platform helps budget administrators verify balances, track activities, and make informed, timely decisions. Furthermore, it reinforces staff accountability and fosters transparency throughout the School’s budget allocation processes.
.
Clinching the Popular Vote Award Marking another proud milestone, the School of Informatics won the Popular Vote Award (School Category) at WU INNOVATION DAY 2026. This accolade serves as significant encouragement for the development team and reflects widespread interest and recognition of the innovation’s practical utility.
The School also received valuable academic insights and feedback from the distinguished committee, offering actionable guidelines to further refine the platform for optimal operational performance.
.
Driving the Organization via Technology and Innovation Participating in WU INNOVATION DAY 2026 demonstrates the expertise of Informatics personnel in applying IT, data management, and digital transformation to internal operations. It also reaffirms the School’s dedication to building practical innovations that align with SDG 16.6 and support Walailak University’s transition into an effective, transparent, accountable, and sustainably modern institution.
.
