The Digital Content and Media Program, School of Informatics, Walailak University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Naparat Chookerd, in collaboration with the Academic Services Center, has initiated a project titled “Design and Development of Media to Promote Learning on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” The main objective is to create digital media that communicates SDG-related content in an accessible and engaging way, enhancing public knowledge, understanding, and participation in driving sustainable development at both local and global levels 🌏
The Communication Arts Program, led by Lecturer Thanaporn Charoentanyaskul, initiated a project to enhance lifelong learning and develop cultural storytelling skills within the Thasala community. The goal is to cultivate local storytelling capabilities in Thasala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, with a focus on promoting tourism through local culture and community ways of life. The project aims to empower local storytellers and generate positive impacts for the broader community. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Goal 4: Quality Education, specifically Sub-indicator 4.3.1: Public Resources (Lifelong Learning), and also supports the UI Green Metric World University Rankings, under the indicator ED.5: Number of activities organized by student organizations related to sustainability per year.
Walailak University, in collaboration with the Public Policy for Society and Good Governance Foundation and the Buddhadasa Indapanno Archives (Suan Mokkh Bangkok), has received funding from the Thai CG Fund to implement a project for managing Buddhist temples in accordance with good governance principles. The aim is to promote good governance management in Buddhist temples and assist them in adopting a governance management system based on the foundation's nine best practices for temple administration.
From November 2023 to March 2024, the Digital Content and Media Program, under the School of Informatics, offered the "Content Creation and Digital Marketing" course as part of the New Generation Graduate Program (Non-Degree). The aim was to build and develop a highly skilled workforce, promoting lifelong learning to ensure stable livelihoods. Over 40 participants, primarily individuals from outside the university, attended the course to upskill and enhance their knowledge and techniques in marketing and media production—completely free of charge. The course took place at the Informatics Laboratory and the General Education Building 6, Walailak University.
