12 Responsible Consumption and Production

This research project focuses on studying and developing factors that influence the growth and enhancement of the batik textile business in Krabi Province, which the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted. The resulting downturn in tourism has led to widespread unemployment in the area. However, there are interesting products with the potential to be developed, showcasing local heritage in many dimensions. Moreover, there are numerous producers spread across every district of Krabi Province. In response, a career development project was initiated, offering batik-making workshops for interested locals in Krabi. These workshops aim to impart knowledge and identify innovative groups to engage in experimental work by presenting creative designs for producing batik textiles, focusing on both scientific and product design aspects.
