The Digital Content and Media Program, School of Informatics, Walailak University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Naparat Chookerd, in collaboration with the Academic Services Center, has initiated a project titled “Design and Development of Media to Promote Learning on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” The main objective is to create digital media that communicates SDG-related content in an accessible and engaging way, enhancing public knowledge, understanding, and participation in driving sustainable development at both local and global levels 🌏
The Digital Communication Arts Program, Walailak University, in collaboration with the Walailak University Botanical Garden, led by Tanaporn Charoenthansakul, Wannarat Natee, and Busarin Nantaket, has organized the project titled “Communicating on Plant Conservation in the Original Forest Area in the case of Walailak University Botanical Park.” This project aims to enhance the natural learning potential of the original forest area and support the conservation and preservation of natural resources under the Royal Initiative. Additionally, it seeks to raise awareness of the value of the original forest area by educating local youth about the benefits of plant species in the original forest. The project has organized activities to create participation in communication among local youths in 2024 as follows:
Walailak University, in collaboration with the Public Policy for Society and Good Governance Foundation and the Buddhadasa Indapanno Archives (Suan Mokkh Bangkok), has received funding from the Thai CG Fund to implement a project for managing Buddhist temples in accordance with good governance principles. The aim is to promote good governance management in Buddhist temples and assist them in adopting a governance management system based on the foundation's nine best practices for temple administration.
Sichon District, located in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand, is a treasure trove of historical narratives and cultural heritage dating back to the 19th century. The area is influenced by a rich mix of religious traditions, including Buddhism, Hinduism, and Chinese Taoism, making it a prime example of cultural diversity. The ancient relics of temples and shrines reflect the district's varied religious history and its profound impact on the local culture.
On August 17, 2024, Walailak University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Naparat Chuakerd and students from the School of Informatics, in collaboration with the Center for Academic Services, visited Wat Wang Tawan Tok to film an interview with Phra Khru Phromkhet Khanarak, Ph.D., the abbot of Wat Wang Tawan Tok, regarding the temple’s meditation project. The interview covered the following topics:
Led by Dr. Naparat Chukerd and students from the School of Informatics, Walailak University visited Sichon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, to film a video interview on the concept of reusing waste materials from various packaging, such as coffee bags, milk cartons, and snack wrappers, to create new products with added value and utility. Ms. Supanna Kaewtuen, President of the Baan Khao Sai Professional Development Group, generously supported the interview. Key points of the interview
Walailak University has produced a video interview documenting the performance of "Kham Tak" songs to preserve local wisdom. This initiative is part of the project "Cultural Capital Management Based on Ancient Sandbank Beliefs to Enhance the Local Economy in Sichon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province."
