Project Importance / Principles and Rationale
Walailak University, in collaboration with the Public Policy for Society and Good Governance Foundation and the Buddhadasa Indapanno Archives (Suan Mokkh Bangkok), has received funding from the Thai CG Fund to implement a project for managing Buddhist temples in accordance with good governance principles. The aim is to promote good governance management in Buddhist temples and assist them in adopting a governance management system based on the foundation’s nine best practices for temple administration.
The Academic Service Center has initiated the “Temple Transparency Information System Project” with the objective of enabling temples in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province to implement an information system that can efficiently and effectively disseminate temple-related information.
Project Objectives
- To develop a temple transparency information system that temples can use to effectively and efficiently disseminate their information.
- To promote and disseminate various news and information from temples to the general public and relevant organizations.
- To integrate teaching, research, and academic services in the form of Social Engagement.
- To foster collaboration between schools/faculties within the university or with external organizations.
Involved Entities
- School of Informatics, Walailak University
- Temples in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province (Wang Tawan Tok Temple, Chantraram Temple, Vimuttitham Temple)
- The Public Policy Foundation for Society and Good Governance, in collaboration with the Buddhadasa Indapanno Archives (Suan Mokkh Bangkok)
- Integration with courses offered by the School of Informatics, research activities, and the preservation of arts and culture.
The development of the temple transparency information system has been integrated with four courses from the Digital Content and Media Program at the School of Informatics:
- DCM63-353 Web Design and Development for Information Services
