The Digital Communication Arts Program, led by Asst. Prof. Tanaporn Charoenthansakul, Project Leader, together with students from the Moving Images Club, Walailak University, conducted a field activity at the Tha Sala District Learning Promotion Center, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, on Monday, July 7, 2025. The purpose was to disseminate and introduce access to online learning resources on storytelling skill development prepared by the project, with an emphasis on accessibility via mobile phones. This enabled participants to learn and review training content and storytelling skills in local culture anytime, as well as share the knowledge within their community.
.
From the fieldwork and training sessions throughout the project, the post-training evaluation indicated that participants gained additional knowledge. They expressed that the information received was useful for their occupations, applicable in daily life, and worthwhile compared to the time and expenses spent in joining the activities. Moreover, they expected to apply this knowledge to create further benefits, develop new insights, and increase income.
.
At the sub-district level within Tha Sala District, participants applied their knowledge by selecting interesting local stories, experimenting with storytelling, and producing short video clips. The Digital Communication Arts team from Walailak University provided consultation, follow-up, and production guidance during field visits. As a result, each sub-district produced one video clip. Besides serving as promotional media and career opportunities, the training also empowered participants to further expand their storytelling practices to other areas.
.
All training and field activities were carried out under the Project on Promoting Lifelong Learning and Developing Storytelling Skills in Local Culture of Tha Sala Community to Enhance Tourism and Community Way of Life. The project aimed to develop local storytelling skills in Tha Sala community, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, focusing on promoting cultural tourism and community lifestyle.
